Tour the Ganges valley and central India to help you discover the hidden charms of deep India. A circuit that is out of the ordinary and takes you to see sites outside of mass tourism sites. Make your way to Benares, aiming for the Kamasutra temples and ending with the discovery of the Hindu and Buddhist troglodyte temples of Ajanta and Ellora.

Cities to visit: Delhi – Jaipur – Agra – Orchha – Khajuraho – Allahabad – Banaras – Bhopal – Mandu – Maheswar – Jalgaon – Ajanta – Ellora – Aurangabad

Day 01 :- Delhi:

Arrival during the day or evening (depending on your international flight schedule).

Day 02 :- Delhi / Jaipur:

Departure for Jaipur. Installation in Jaipur then visit the Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal). In the evening, discovery of the old town, also nicknamed the “pink city”, and visit of the Laxminarayan temple.

Day 03 :- Jaipur:

Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan founded by the astronomer king Jai Singh II between 1688 and 1743. Visit to Amber Fort and climb to the fort on the back of an elephant or on foot/by Jeep. In the afternoon, visit the Astronomical Observatory (Jantar Mantar) and the City Palace. Walk through the bazaars of the “pink city” and discover its historic districts.

Day 04 :- Jaipur / Fatehpur Sikri / Agra:

Departure for Agra. On the way, visit the fortified city Fatehpur Sikri, built by Emperor Akbar between 1571 and 1585. Installation in Agra. Visit the Agra Fort, one of the most beautiful Mughal style forts built in 1565 by Akbar and enlarged by his grandson Shah Jahan. In the evening, visit the bazaars of the city of Agra.

Day 05 :- Agra / Gwalior / Orchha:

Early morning visit to the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world. Built at the request of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in homage to his beloved, its construction mobilized more than 20,000 workers and craftsmen from all over the world. Return to the hotel for breakfast then departure for Orchha. On the way, visit Gwalior Fort. Installation in Orchha. (Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays).

Day 06 :- Orchha:

Visit the palaces (Raja Mahal, Jahangir Mahal, Raj Praveen Mahal), temples (Chaturbhuj, Ram Raja, Lakshminareyan), gardens (Phoolbagh and Hardaul-ka-Betaika cenotaph), the banks of the Betwa with the chatris of the sovereigns of the city.

Day 07 :- Orchha / Khajurâho:

Departure for Khajuraho. Installation in Khajuraho. Visit the city’s Kamasutra temples. In the evening, visit the town of Khajuraho.

 

Day 08 :- Khajuraho / Allahabad:

Departure for Allahabad. Installation in Allahabad then visit the Patalpuri temple. In the evening, visit the Sangam (confluence of three sacred rivers Ganges, Yamuna and the mythical river Saraswati) and its ghats.

Day 09 :- Allahabad / Chunar / Benares:

Departure for Chunar. On arrival, boarding a boat to Vârânasi, crossing the Ganges through picturesque villages. On arrival, disembarkation and installation in Vârânasi. In the evening, discovery of the religious ceremony on the Ganges.

 

Day 10 :- Benares

Early in the morning, boat trip on the Ganges to see life dawn on the Ganges ghats then return to the hotel for breakfast. During the day, visit the Manikarnika (cremation), Dasahwamedha (purification) ghats of Benares and the Vishwanath temple. In the evening, visit the ancient city of Benares, the Chowk and its bazaars.

Day 11 :- Benares / Bhopal (train):

Departure to visit the Buddhist temple of Sarnath, the fort of Ramgarh then day discovery of the city of Benares. In the evening, air-conditioned sleeper night train to Bhopal.

Day 12 :-Bhopal:

Arrival at Bhopal station, reception and installation. Departure to visit the mosques of Bhopal, Taj-ul-Masjid, Dahi-Seedi ki Masjid as well as the Birla temple. In the evening, visit the city of Bhopal.

Day 13 :- Bhopal / Sanchi / Bhopal:

Departure for a visit to the Buddhist site of Sanchi. On site, visit the stupas and the Sanchi monastery. Return to Bhopal.

Day 14 :- Bhopal / Mandu:

Departure for Mandu. Installation in Mandu then visit the village of Mandu.

Day 15 :- Mandu:

Visit to the Mandu site. Mandu will experience its hour of glory from the 15th century, when Hoshang Shah made it the capital of his state. The rulers of his dynasty left behind palaces, mosques and mausoleums which are among the finest examples of Afghan architecture visible in India. Royal enclave (Jahaz Mahal, Taveli Mahal, Hindola Mahal); central group (Jama Majid and Shah Hoshang mausoleum); southern group (Baz Bahadur Palace, Rupmati Pavilion).

Day 16 :- Mandu / Maheswar:

Departure for Maheswar. Installation in Maheshwar then visit the Maheswar palace and the temples of Baneswar. Discovery of the Narmada ghats.

 

Day 17 :- Maheswar / Omkareswar / Jalgaon:

Departure for Jalgaon. En route, visit the town of Omkareswar. On arrival, installation in Jalgoan then free time in the city of Jalgaon.

Day 17 :- Jalgaon / Ajanta / Aurangabad:

Departure for Aurangabad. On the way visit the Ajanta caves, also classified as World Heritage Sites. To the group of Buddhist rock monuments from the 2nd and 1st centuries BC. AD were added, during the Gupta period (5th and 6th centuries), even larger and richer decorated caves. The paintings and sculptures of Ajanta are masterpieces of Buddhist religious art. Then drive to Aurangabad. Settling in Aurangabad. Free evening.

Day 19 :- Aurangabad / Ellora / Aurangabad:

Departure for a visit to the Ellora caves. The Ellora Caves bear witness to three great religions, Buddhism, Brahmanism and Jainism. They illustrate the spirit of tolerance characteristic of ancient India, which allowed these three religions to establish their sanctuaries and their communities in the same place. Classified as a world heritage site. Return to Aurangabad and visit the Taj Mahal replica of Aurangabad.

Day 20 :- Aurangabad / Delhi (flight):

Flight to Delhi. Reception and installation in Delhi. In the evening, visit the Nizzamudin sanctuary.

Day 21 :- Delhi / France ( transfer):

Transfer to the airport for the return flight .
